Wow! I guess I was a little optimistic when I thought I was going to continue working a part-time flexible job, continue working as a freelance Bay Area Makeup Artist, launch two new businesses, and plan a wedding across the country! I have been absolutely TERRIBLE at updating my blog here! Hopefully, youâve been able to keep up with me on instagram and facebook, since thatâs where most of my “on-the-fly” updates happen, with a little snapchat sprinkled in!
Iâve been pretty busy as a Bay Area Makeup Artist, including a few trips to LA for some fun jobs, which I will share in an upcoming post, as I am recommitted to spending time each day writing, whether itâs for articles like the one I have in Apple News/Huffington Post, or the other times I was published, or in this blog! That should mean more posts more often, but not necessarily on any type of specific schedule, aside from the podcast posts every Monday and Friday!
The last time I updated my makeup artistry blog was when the music video for Laura Michelleâs “Novel With No End” was launched. I have since worked with her again, but I am saving that for another blog, too! Your patience is appreciated! ðð
If you remember the times Iâve worked with Anjelica Martinez, you probably remember some very beautiful photos! Well, I have another shoot to share with you from working with her, and you wonât be disappointed!
You may actually remember some of the behind-the-scenes pics and videos… If not, hereâs a reminder!
This one is preparing for the final look, which I will show you first, since it is my favorite!

Next up, more video, but from our first look!

And finally, before the actual images, hereâs an edited behind-the-scenes shot!

As I mentioned, I want to start off with our final look, which I think is just gorgeous! I love the golden tones, how they bring out her beautiful eyes, and the hair is so fun!
See, I wasnât lying when I promised fun hair!
If youâre wondering how I achieved said hairstyle, this next picture might give you an indication! I love how this actually looks super 1990s, which if you didnât know, are in right now! ð
Letâs get in for a closer look on some fun golden hues with a statement lip, shall we?
As you can tell, I love doing braids, and since Emmaâs hair was so long, I couldnât resist a nice fishtail!
The first look we did was a really natural lifestyle look, skateboarding in the street, messy hair, shades, and big smiles outdoors. Basically, how Emma might actually spend a lot of her time!
How adorable is she??
I obviously donât endorse Coke, but this is a cute and fun concept!
In case you missed the credits in the instagram posts, Anjelica Martinez was the wardrobe stylist, photographer & retoucher, Emma Madden of Halvorsen Model Management was the talent, and I did the hair & makeup!
Stay tuned for tomorrowâs challenge from Mondayâs guest, and for more work and blog posts to come! ð
xoxo,
Mandie
