I hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving yesterday and had a huge list of things for which to be grateful. I ALSO hope that you continue that gratitude far beyond yesterday, and take it into today! Now that you’ve hopefully spent time with family and friends and contemplating the things for which you’re thankful, hopefully you’re ready to get down to business. Now while I realize that on this day, for many people, that business is shopping, for Bold Moves Podcast Episode 20: Fearless Fridays #10: Alan’s Challenge!, I also have the suggestion that you use it for other things!
If you haven’t yet, please go back to Monday’s episode, where I interview Alan Harris, a man who will be standing up in our wedding in July as a groomsman, and who brings an interesting perspective as an entrepreneur with a background in business risk management to the discussion! In Bold Moves Podcast Episode 20: Fearless Fridays #10: Alan’s Challenge!, he also raises two different options for challenges to move away from your comfort zone and closer to making your dreams come true!
Now it just wouldn’t be fair to move forward to this challenge without addressing last week’s, because I need to do the challenges, too! If you haven’t yet, check that out! The challenge was given by Linda Mitchell, who has overcome some pretty intimidating obstacles (both as part of her obstacle races for which she’s won awards, as well as challenges life’s thrown at her), and it’s fantastic. It only takes a bit of imagination and daring, and anyone can do it! I guess that means I should, too, doesn’t it!
Based upon a book she read by Isaiah Hankel, and then a workshop she attended that he led, she asked us to write a statement with our perfect day. Within a month of her making her ideal day, many things had already come true. If there’s something that can help me make my dreams come true, you better believe I will! So, without further ado, here comes my perfect day!
I wake up to the sunrise coming through the open patio door and smile, and remain in bed, listening to the waves crash against the sand on the beach just outside my patio. I notice that I am sandwiched between my gorgeous fiance Tommy who is sleeping on one side of me while my cat Refugio is sleeping on the other side of me. Before I get out of bed, I say my morning prayers of gratitude for my blessings, and ask God how I can make the rest of the day amazing. I quietly sneak out of bed, drink my apple cider vinegar/lemon essential oil/vitamin D combo, and spend the next hour or so reading and writing. In the middle of it, I take some pre-workout and after the hour is over, I go do a workout and shower, and head to my walk-in closet and get dressed. I am so happy that it is beautifully organized, and not too crowded, since I just made a couple great donations to a woman’s shelter.
Shortly after, Tommy wakes up, and we go for a walk together on the beach and talk about what we want to do that day, and we remember we’ve flown some more friends or family in to spend time with us! We pick them up from the airport and take them to our favorite place for lunch, and then spend the afternoon exploring together. In the evening, I take a quick break to schedule an interview with an amazing, inspiring, world-changing person for my podcast while our personal chef makes dinner. Afterward, we eat a healthy and delicious dinner with our friends made by our personal chef, on our balcony overlooking the ocean, followed by a slice of Junior’s cheesecake and a couple glasses of Malbec, and discuss what fun things we will do the next day, until we go to bed and our friends stay in our guest wing.
