Want to know a little about my morning routine?
One of the first things I do EVERY SINGLE DAY is to drink a glass of warm or room temperature water with ACV (apple cider vinegar) and lemon essential oil (or freshly-squeezed lemon juice). Want to know why? Here are a few reasons!
Water: Unless you are waking up in the middle of the night and drinking (which can lead to destroyed iPhones), you are likely waking up in the morning dehydrated! Ideally, you are sleeping 7-8 hours straight, so when your alarm clock sounds, your body hasn’t gotten a drink in a long time. For that reason alone, drinking water right away is a great idea!
Why warm/room temperature? If you are just waking up, it’s better to ease into consumption with something closer to your body’s temperature, as opposed to freezing cold or piping hot!
Why lemon essential oil? If I had a lemon tree, I would probably pick a lemon every day or so and squeeze it into my water, but I don’t! A friend did give me a bag of lemon’s from her aunt’s tree, and that’s what I did! But the rest of the time, I use essential oils, because it’s not going to go bad on me, and a drop or two does the trick – so much easier than squeezing a lemon! 😉
What about the ACV? Use the kind “with the mother” for the best benefit – and don’t feel like drinking it in the morning is the only use for it! Here’s a link that explains a ton of great uses for ACV!
Important note: Make sure you brush your teeth after this beverage! It’s quite acidic, and if you make it a habit like I do, it could be bad for your tooth enamel over time!
