I have been doing so many fun shoots lately, it has been hard to keep up! This one was back in May, but I couldnât share it until recently because it was published, which means we had to wait! I have many more updates coming soon, so I hope you enjoy this Los Angeles male grooming portfolio update!
As you have seen from previous posts, I have worked many times with Remy Tortosa and Anne Demay of 1817 Creatives. If you watch my (or their) instagram stories, youâll have seen even more shoots by now!
I worked with them on a shoot with Timothy Granaderos from Netflixâs 13 reasons why, as well as with Moroccan model, actress, and influencer, Abla Sofy. The rest, however, remain unpublished, or unedited, and therefore unsharable as of now!
We did, however, in the meantime, do a shoot with international model and all around nice guy with a kind soul, Helder Afonso. I think youâll enjoy the photos!
To start, hereâs a behind-the-scenes shot that I took from their instagram, before they rebranded.
Thatâs right, sometimes I have to do makeup/grooming on gorgeous, shirtless gentlemen. Iâll wait while you start my pity party so I can show up fashionably late! ðI did this again last week, which means there wonât be too long before thereâs another Los Angeles male grooming portfolio update!
Helder has such gorgeous blue eyes that I couldnât resist lining them with a matte bronze-toned shadow to make them pop a little bit extra. I think youâll agree that it doesnât look like he is wearing “guyliner,” and that he has beautiful eyes!
See?
The images were published in Atlas magazine, for an editorial called “Living in a Dream,” which is ironic, because my second blog/tumblr was called “living the dream,” which is what I usually say when people ask me how Iâm doing! And the best part is, Iâm not lying!
As a reminder, Remy Tortosa was the photographer, Anne Demay was the wardrobe stylist, and 1817 Creatives were the creative director. I did hair & grooming!
Something that made this shoot extra cool was that we were able to shoot with a vintage Porsche, courtesy of Jean-Pierre Nataf. Here are some cool pictures that highlight the car!
It amazes me how expressive he is. Check out this juxtaposition…
So sad and contemplative one minute, and happy the next. Maybe he just wanted shades and to drive the Porsche?
Or without sunglasses works, too…
I wonder if this will be the only Los Angeles male grooming portfolio update with a Porsche featured for me?
I am enjoying playing more with menâs hair, and love the length Helder and last weekâs model/actor have!
Road trip? I wonder where heâs headed!
How am I supposed to pick which shot goes in my portfolio???
Seriously, which images should I use?
I feel like I must say that I donât advocate smoking, even though it does look pretty cool in pictures!
Alright, help a sister out. Which images are the best to put in my portfolio on the new site Iâm building? Let me know!
xoxo,
Mandie
