As a writer and fanatic about personal development, my eyes and ears are constantly open for opportunities to learn and be inspired. As a social media fan, I also spend a lot of time scrolling through content trying to sort through and find the gems in the junk. A couple weeks ago, this turned into some unexpected inspiration, so I decided to turn THAT into a book giveaway (and hopefully pass along some unexpected inspiration to you!
Have you ever heard of Nicole Arbor? If her name isn’t familiar, let me share one of her videos you’ve probably seen…
That one is her most viral one, at least from the quick google search I did!
Well, I “like” her facebook page… I find her entertaining, and to me, she is a less offensive, less irritating, less over-the-top Jenna Marbles… And I think she’s actually funny!
I would never, however, expect to find her inspiring… I guess that’s how unexpected inspiration works, though, right?
However, the most recent video that I have seen from her surprised me. Check it out, and get some unexpected inspiration yourself!
Wow. Isn’t that incredible? If you follow me on instagram (shameless plug), you know that I’m fond of the idea of the law of attraction. I may have explained it before, but to me I think there are a couple of concepts behind it that make sense to me.
One is that if you focus on something enough, your brain will train itself to see it more, and to find creative solutions to make whatever it is happen.
A second is that I believe in God, am a Christian, and truly believe that God has our best interests in mind if we trust him and choose to believe that things will ultimately work out for our greatest good.
In Nicole Arbor’s case, I think both of my two main Law of Attraction themes apply. I also think that this video that Tommy (my husband, who is a physical therapist) showed me after we watched Gaga Five Foot Two on Netflix applies:
Fun fact: I’ve had a couple cocktails with one of the creators of the above video, who is the world’s leading expert on pain, when he came to teach a weekend-long course at Tommy’s former place of employment! He’s a lot more fun and nicer than you might expect from someone with a title like “expert of pain,” which might also be a semi-pro wrestler (but isn’t)!
Anyway, I just thought I’d share that piece of unexpected inspiration with you, in case you needed it, or want to share it with someone who might!
To sweeten the deal (without dreaded added sugar), I also thought I’d give away a copy of Louise Hay’s You Can Heal Your Life, the author Nicole Arbor mentions in that second video where I found that unexpected inspiration! I was given two copies by a new friend I met who works for Hay House, so it seems only natural and appropriate that I share the love!
