Want to build muscle? Be more productive? Make fewer mistakes?
If you’re already working out (especially resistance training), you’re on the right track! But there’s something more you can and should be doing, and that’s SLEEP!
You probably weren’t expecting me to tell you not to move, were you? Haha!
But it’s true! Getting good sleep is something that I have never really excelled at. I always have loved to work out, but falling and staying asleep was often an issue (likely quite related to my difficulty relaxing). For a long time, I just decided that I didn’t NEED as much sleep as other people to function. That may be true, but what if it isn’t? What if I am not the special unicorn I thought I was?!
I recently read this article about sleep, and discovered that I could definitely be wrong. In fact, STUDIES SHOW that I most likely am!
There are many more consequences to not getting enough sleep, and here’s a pretty comprehensive list!
So now what?
Well, I decided that I can’t be the only one with this problem, so I am going to make a challenge group for it! We start this coming Monday, and you can join us here!
We will also challenge ourselves for the seven days of the challenge to get a minimum of seven hours of sleep per night!
P.S. If you have sleep issues related to relaxation, check this link out! And make sure to read the comments, because a lot of people offered helpful tips!
P.P.S. What do you do to help yourself fall and stay asleep?
