This week’s guest, for Bold Moves Podcast Episode 165 Morgaine Trine has made some bold moves! In the Summer of 2016, Morgaine was miserable with my life. She didn’t have direction and was fighting with what she thought she should be doing. So, she decided to do the one thing she always wanted, and that was travel. While saving up to travel, Morgaine finally settled on starting a bookkeeping business to fund her travel life. She learned bookkeeping, worked full-time and set up her biz until mid-October when she got on a plane with her one-way ticket! Morgaine is able to do work that is meaningful and fulfilling, and have continually surprised herself by being the braver, more courageous woman she aspired to be! This is such a great story. This week’s guest, for Bold Moves Podcast Episode 167 Jo Chun Yan Poon has made some bold moves! Two years ago, Jo quit my job, moved to Japan to learn Japanese. It was something Jo had always wanted to do but hadn’t been able to. While Jo was there she started my own graphic design business and work full time for myself. Making this huge leap (although it came with lots of preparation and planning) has been a huge gamechanger for Jo’s future and her life. Bold Moves Podcast Episode 169 Kara Green
This week’s guest, for Bold Moves Podcast Episode 169 Kara Green has made some bold moves! Kara became bold by opening up about my interests. Because of her bold moves to share her interests with people, opportunities became available to her because she put them out in the world. Kara started teaching belly dance classes and has been invited to teach workshops for gatherings! She connected with someone who is helping her develop educational apps to help more people, and even took acting classes just because I felt like it! This week’s guest, for Bold Moves Podcast Episode 171 Jeremy Griffin has made some bold moves! Jeremy is a man of many businesses. While working on his own marketing company called Startup Street, Jeremy decided to buy Grizzly Targets. This was a small manufacturing business that was struggling. This business lost 250,000 in 2015, and within 12 months, Jeremy was able to flip it back into the profitable! Everything Jeremy works on continues to improve! Yay! It’s May! Ok, enough rhyming (though I don’t make any promises). You probably already have figured out (at least if you’ve been paying attention the past four months) that new months mean new posts about monthly goals – both what is coming, and how things have gone last month. So it should be no surprise that this post is all about the May Goals & Accountability!
Cultural Appropriation Vs. Cultural Appreciation in Hair & Makeup
This is the scariest blog post I’ve ever written, but for someone who has a podcast called Bold Moves, I have no excuse not to hit “publish.” I want to state from the start that I am approaching this topic from a place of genuine curiosity, exploration of boundaries, and in the hopes that that it will foster a respectful discussion where I (and perhaps others) can learn about the boundaries between cultural appropriation vs. cultural appreciation so as to move forward in a less ignorant and more respectful way as the world seems to grow smaller and the melting pot does more melting.
