I am starting out this blog with a soundtrack for reading it, if you so choose (just beware of some NSFW/Children language)!
One of the ways I’ve been using to make friends since I am self-employed is using the Meetup app. I joined a Law of Attraction Book Club meetup, and one of the things we do at each meeting (which I have adopted for my team Zoom meetings/calls) is to go around and have each of us share some wins since our last meeting.
I love it, but one thing that I’ve become somewhat painfully aware of is the fact that I have a hard time coming up with wins, even when thinking over a six-week period since our last discussion!
I think there are multiple reasons for this:
1. Our brains are not (yet) trained to look out for wins.
2. Six weeks is a long time! Amazing things could have happened 5.5 weeks ago that have long since escaped my memory.
So, in the Law of Attraction idea that focusing on winning attracts more winning, I want to focus on it more! That being said (er, typed!), I am going to make a “Win Wednesday” post on my facebook page every week, and have it be somewhere we can post our wins for the week! Please participate with me tomorrow! If we can do “Wine Wednesday,” we should be able to do Win Wednesday. Heck, let’s combine them and I will do a toast to your wins!
Need some WINspiration? (I’ll see myself out)!
Here are some possible “Wins” you can count:
1. Finding change on the ground
2. Finding a great parking spot
3. Getting green lights on the way to your destination
4. Arriving on time
5. Being able to lift heavier weights or do more reps in your workout
6. Going a full day of only eating healthy, real foods
7. Getting a compliment
8. Accomplishing things from your to-do list
9. Actual winning of contests, etc.
And the list goes on! In fact – I just may add to it as I see wins on my facebook posts – how inspirational would it be to have a huge list of things to be reminded to be grateful for?
I know I am good at #9. I am confident in it. Even just thinking about what I’ve won since living in SF…
Tickets to go see my favorite author speak, and…

Then at the event, winning an autographed arm (I like weird books in addition to Law of Attraction books 😂)…
A $100 giftcard to the Seaweed Bath Co (which I plan to pay forward to those who follow my blog/social media, at least in part)!
A $100 bottle of wine at the hotel where we celebrated our engagement weekend:

And so on!
And here’s the thing… We need to get better at bragging, at the right times, in the right places. One of my favorite authors (and mentors from afar), Jon Acuff, has what he calls his “brag table,” which he wrote about in his book “Start,” which started at a mastermind group where those who were part of it celebrated their wins in person, and evolved into something they’d just bring up when they chatted, first prefacing it with “may I approach the brag table?” and eventually being so comfortable with that habit they stopped asking.
Kids are so great at being in touch with their greatness and accomplishments and being proud of them. Why does that get lost as we become adults? Let’s celebrate it all!
What was a recent win for you? Comment below! I also hope to see more at my page on Wednesdays! 😉
xoxo,
Mandie

I heart this. My win for the day? Picking up another client and still getting my workout in!
Thank you! And that’s an awesome win for sure! I am going to have to do my workout late tonight because I procrastinated too much this morning, but it WILL happen! 😉 For me today, my win so far is not being hard on myself for sleeping in a little bit this morning! 😉
