Oh man. I think you know what time it is. It’s the beginning of a new month, and even better – a new quarter – and that means it’s time for reflection and goal-setting! Usually, I love this part of life, but in March I went a bit… Off the rails, so to speak, and so here I am with my tail between my legs to share my April & Q2 Goals & Accountability! The best part, though, is that a new quarter brings with it a fresh start, so at least I’ve got that going for me… which is nice!
Shall we start by re-visiting the old goals?
Back in January, I wanted to have 10,000 followers on a lot of different social pages and email lists by now. Not. Even. CLOSE!
In February, though, I did figure out that I wanted to shift my goal from followers to finishing my book.
There were many strategies I laid down in January to reach that goal, as well as others, and I have been moving forward with those, but if I am being honest with myself, I am certainly not doing it consistently enough to reach that goal that fast! I have, however, established what I feel are some great habits, and for that I am pretty pleased!
One of the reasons my Q1 Goal of 10K+ followers didn’t happen was because in February, I decided that I was going to focus more on my book and less on increasing my following, and I did stick to that pretty well, until March!
If you see my previous months of accountability, you can see that I have included screenshots from a website I am loving, 42goals.com.
You will NOT be seeing that for March, because I basically went off the rails in March. I worked two trade shows (one in NorCal), which basically took up half the month (almost a week each), had family visit, and have been focused on something else I can’t really share yet, so a lot of everything fell by the wayside. I even took an entire week off posting on instagram (aside from stories).
Speaking of instagram, one of my goals was to make our whole apartment instagram-worthy. That goal has been ditched, as now we MAY be looking at a countdown of three months left in LA, in which case if we’re moving, I don’t want to waste my time decorating! If we end up staying, I will revisit my goal!
I still did my best, and for the most part, at least got my MOVE goals every day! I don’t think there were any days I did NOTHING, but it’s definitely not worth showing my 42goals screenshots this month!
It wasn’t entirely a loss, though!
And while the “thing I can’t really mention” is a major source of stress at the moment, it also carries with it the potential for excitement and great things to come… It’s just the waiting part that is negative fun!
I broke my “no buy” rule for personal development recently, too. I was not going to buy any more courses until I completed Smart Success, but ended up enrolling in two course-related membership programs, so finishing Smart Success and getting caught up in those two new programs are at the top of my priority list, plus implementing what I learn!
I also plan to do a huge makeover on my site.
And I want to finish my book either in Q2, or at the beginning of Q3 – I can’t decide whether it would be good or bad to launch right before the honeymoon, but my gut tells me to do it before!
All this sounds to me like I need to hunker down and spend quite a bit of time on my phone and computer making things happen, cap’n!
To sum up the goals:
1. Continue to track on 42goals.com the same behaviors, but to be more intentional with the personal development (finish courses) and write/content/add to audience (implement what’s learned in courses!) directives. This puts me toward both goals I wavered on in Q1 – growing my audience, and finishing my book.
2. Do a complete overhaul of my website.
3. Get caught up on all personal development courses/memberships.
4. Finish my book
5. Celebrate with Blogfest and then a honeymoon, followed by…. maybe moving? We shall see!
One exciting personal development thing – we are discussing “You Are A Badass At Making Money” by Jen Sincero* next week in my Virtual Personal Development Book Club on facebook sometime next week. Feel free to join us!
