I guess we can finally let the cat out of the bag! Tommy and I are leaping out of our comfort zones and moving to Mountain View, California (very close to San Francisco) in one month!
Back in September, Tommy and I went to San Diego for a vacation before he presented at Primal Con in Oxnard (during which I went to Los Angeles to work and visit a couple friends), and then he and I traveled up California to San Francisco (for about 12 hours) and then to Napa (wine – haha!). He was exploring opportunities, and after a lot of interviewing and research, we have found our next home!
He will be a part of a residency program in Palo Alto to get his OCS, and I will be continuing to “Change Lives and Play Dress Up,” just in a new place!
Of course, we are going to deeply miss our friends and family, and plan to spend as much time with them as we can while we are still local.
We are excited to be in a progressive, health-conscious state where we can buy raw milk in stores! And we are definitely excited to walk to farmers markets, and be away from these ridiculously cold Wisconsin winters! And yes – we can’t wait to make new friends to introduce to our current friends when they come visit!
I want to make it clear to my current clients in Wisconsin and Illinois that I do not want you to stop asking my availability for shoots! I won’t be able to do the super-low rate last-minute shoots that occasionally come up, but if I have enough time to book a flight and get there, and am getting my half day rate or day rate, I’d love to use it as an excuse to come home and see my family and friends (and I am sure they would love that, too), so please keep booking me!
PLUS, I have very few contacts so far out in the Bay Area, so it may take a bit for me to get on my feet! That being said, if you are or know of any photographers, models, makeup artists, designers, art directors, agency directors, etc. in San Francisco or its environs, please help us find each other! I’d love to meet new people, either as friends or professional connections!
That song has to be about San Francisco, right? Are you singing along (John & Sam?)?
Any recommendations of what to do in the San Francisco area?
